Our Story
As a single mother of two, Kathleen set out to try to balance her career and her family. Drawing from her diverse professional experiences in the food industry she set out to develop food products that were focused on the coffee house industries. Her first two clients were Border’s and Barnie’s Tea and Coffee out of Florida.
She worked hand in hand with Barnie’s to help develop their food program and menu. This led her to joining forces with Imperial Food Services, helping to develop food products for retail and government that were all natural.
It was during this time in Kathleen’s career that she became more and more aware of the increasing needs within military families as the war in Iraq & Afghanistan continued. She connected with the challenges of single parenting for a military spouse who had lost a loved one due to the war. Already active in community service as a personal and family endeavor, she realized she could take her newest career opportunities and combine it with the community to make a difference.
In the fall of 2009, Katy’s LLC launched the My OH Mega® cookie in stores and cafes across the nation. With the product launch, Katy’s committed to donate as much as 50% of its profits to organizations supporting the military.
