Recently I was doing laundry at the laundromat when I noticed a lady having troubles. She had forgot her laundry detergent and was visibly upset. Just as she was about to leave in frustration, I offered my help by letting her use my laundry detergent. For some odd reason she was really caught off guard by this but ecstatic that I reached out to help her.
It made me feel really good to help her out but it also concerned me that she was so astonished by someone willing to help her. I’ve always lived by the golden rule - do unto others as you would have them do unto you - and I think the world would be a better place if everyone had this mindset.
